Robert Lewis Taylor
October 12, 1924 - April 10, 2011
Robert L. Taylor, 86, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Memorial University Medical Center. He was born in Portal and moved to Savannah at an early age. He was retired as a supervisor from Union Camp Corporation after many years of service and served in United States Navy aboard the USS Barber in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans during World War II. He and his late wife, Grace Woodrum Taylor were longtime members of Southside Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Ed Kroboth of Goldsboro, NC; Linda and Dale Cook of San Diego, CA; Teresa and Ed Kennedy of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Southside Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Dr. Allan W. Bosson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
